Alcohol metabolized in the liver produces highly toxic chemicals which scar the liver. This scarring leads to inflammation and results in a condition called alcoholic hepatitis. However, thi condition can also occur in people who are moderate drinkers. The other factors that matter are:

  • Genetics that affect the way body metabolizes or breaks down alcohol in the body.

  • Also, avoid Fatty, oily and spicy foods. They increase the strain on the liver as they are difficult to digest. 
  • Further, boiled or baked foods rich in zinc, selenium and vitamin B, C and E are good for the liver.

  • Above all, take adequate rest.
  • Regular exercise in the form of a brisk walk daily is also beneficial in restoring the liver.
